The FTW Transcriber requires Windows Media Player to be installed on your computer, otherwise it will not work. Windows Media Player is normally installed automatically as part of Windows but not always. If it is not installed, the FTW Transcriber’s interface may look like this:
To fix this, you must install Windows Media Player. You can normally do so by using the following steps.
Click the Start button and type “manage optional features”. You will see:
Click on Manage Optional Features and you will see:
Click on Add A Feature and scroll down till you see Windows Media Player:
Click in the check box beside Windows Media Player, then click Install. Installation will begin.
When installation is complete, open the FTW Transcriber, and the interface should look correct.
